"Oh wonderful kittens! O Brush! O Hush!
At last, almost by accident, the kittens poured a bucket of blue and a bucket of yellow together,
and it came to pass that they made a green as green as grass.
Green as green leaves on a tree.
Green as islands in the sea."
--from The Color Kittens by Margaret Wise Brown

Hudson's preschool had a fun Book Character Parade to wrap up their week celebrating Read Across America. He chose to dress up as Hush, the color kitten, from one of his favorite books about two cats that take buckets of paint to mix up all the colors in the world! This little golden book was actually mine when I was his age, and I love reading this sweet story as much as he does.

Will and I loved seeing Hudson and all his little buddies parading through the gym as story book characters, and we especially love the emphasis that his preschool puts on reading! Hooray for BOOKS!

This is really such a great idea! I love that they encourage reading in this way. It's a fun and interactive way for the children to learn to love books!

I know I said this on Instagram, but Hudson really is one adorable Color Kitten! I hope he had a great time!
