Even though it poured torrential rain on our Halloween night,
and we didn't get to trick-or-treat...
our little pirate was still happy.

Our church always has the most fabulous festival for Halloween! Hudson and his little buddies had such a wonderful time playing carnival games, like 'Pumpkin in the Hay', 'Pick the Nose for a Prize', and 'Bobbing for Doughnuts'! This year we are expecting storms on Halloween night, so the festival brought a lot of people from the community to the park for some good, family fun!

I got to join Hudson and his little Pre-K class on their field trip to McGee Farms,
and we had a wonderful time! They picked pumpkins, dug for vegetables, played in the hay,
and even stuffed a scarecrow....it's little scarecrow face was drawn by yours truly!
I love seeing my little guy having lots of fun with his friends!

There are so many talented people come from Alabama....
one of them is Michael Nichols, an award winning photographer who has been to the most
remote corners of the world.  We were lucky to wander into his latest exhibit,
"The Short Happy Life of a Serengeti Lion",
one of 26 stories he has made for National Geographic!

Afterwards, we happened upon a Fire Truck Parade,
with fire trucks from all over the county rolling down Court Street.

A little culture, some candy, and lots of fun--
Sunday strolls don't get much better!

Hudson recently joined the Cherub Choir at our church!
He loves going to choir practice on Wednesday nights.
When we found out that it was time for the little cherubs to sing during a Sunday service,
I got a little nervous....
I had been asking him for weeks to sing what he had learned at choir practice,
and he never would! So, naturally, I feared that he would be the little kid just standing
there during the big performance.
I couldn't have been more wrong!
Hudson is always full of surprises....
he sang the words like a pro!
And he LOVES an audience.
We couldn't have been more proud of our sweet cherub.
Doesn't he look like an angel in that little robe?

**here is a video of their second performance in The Bridge, our church's contemporary service:
