This year's Valentine's Day was awfully sweet.
There were lots of surprises and Hudson chose
where we would enjoy our dinner out....
his favorite: mexican food, otherwise known as "chips & dips",
which was totally fine by me!
But then,
I would celebrate LOVE day anywhere with my two handsome valentines.

In January, Hudson started preschool two days a week,
and I'll be honest...
I have soooo been looking forward to the day when I could visit his class,
and see him play with all his little buddies.
I got to stop by for their class Valentine party,
and it was just precious.

When I got there, the kids were all in a circle,
singing a song with their teachers, Ms. Carolyn and Ms. Caroline.
Hudson's little face lit up when he saw me!
He was so proud to have me there.

Then, they said the pledge of allegiance.
(So cute!)
And after that, they had prayer time.
Ms. Carolyn asked Hudson if he wanted to lead the class in prayer,
and, of course, he said yes.
All the little ones bowed their heads,
and Hudson said:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for our day.
Thank you for my family and friends.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.

Ms. Carolyn told me that the last time he prayed,
he said "Thank you for my teachers."
I love this sweet little guy so much!!

Later they all rushed to the tables,
and I thought it was funny that all the boys sat together,
and the girls sat at the other table. Ha!
They had lots of special snacks for their party....
Hudson's favorite was definitely the cheetos.

After snack they all did a pretend rocket ship song.
It was beyond cute.

Hudson adores his class,
and I am so glad that he has two loving teachers
and a room full of sweet buddies.

p.s. I mentioned in my last post that Hudson says his "girl friend" wears a big bow. Clearly, I couldn't tell who was the special girl....all those cuties had big bows! ;)

I had so much fun helping Hudson make his very first batch of sweet valentines!
We wanted to make some special surprises for the 11 cuties in his 3 year old class,
and since Hudson loves all things "outer space",
we decided on some fun & funky alien valentines!

Each one was unique, and Hudson loved mixing and matching the pieces,
and stuffing them with candy kisses.
But his favorite part of all was, most definitely, the googly eyes.

He sure was proud of those cute valentines....
he couldn't wait to pass them out to his little friends.
(I hear alot about his "girl friend, who wears the big bow",
and his two "boy friends").
And I couldn't wait to sit in on his little class party
and see the Valentine fun in action!

This winter has been rough on us. After passing around head colds and the flu and a nagging cough,
we were soo glad to see the sun shine on a pretty Saturday. We loaded up our sweet (three-legged) dog, Dakota, and headed north for a lovely mini-road trip, Tennessee style.

Falls Mill, in the valley of Factory Creek was our destination, and it is a beautiful place!
The three story, brick faced mill, tucked among lush trees, faces a gorgeous waterfall. And although it has been in action since the 1800's, this non-profit historical gem opens up every day so that visitors can see a working grist mill in action. The century-old, 32 foot, steel water wheel is a sight to behold.
Upstairs, there is a large collection of vintage goods and mementos. And Hudson's favorite part was the authentic player piano. He loved putting his quarter in, and dancing along as the piano played fun tunes from the roaring '20's!

After our tour of the mill, we explored the grounds and enjoyed the rushing creek. Hudson must really be anticipating warmer weather...we caught him rolling up his pants legs: "I have to roll these up so I can get in the water."

On our way back home, we stopped by the historic Fayetteville square. We went in the cutest antique shops, strolled in the warm air, and let Hudson play on the "canyons" (that say "poooose poooose") outside the old courthouse.

I know it's still very much Winter, in fact, temperatures are plummeting again.
But after such a wonderful day,
I can't resist getting excited about the promise of Spring!
