Cotton' Pickin' Pumpkins

Tate Farms is like the Disney World of Pumpkin Patches.
SO. much. to. see.

My dear friend Pamela and I took our sweet boys to enjoy
a fun Fall day in the fields...
and they had an absolute blast.
We were there from the time they opened,
until they closed,
and we still didn't do every pumpkin-y activity they had to offer.

Hudson and Easton
saw cute baby farm animals
rode on a hayride into the pumpkin patch
went down some majorly fun slides
climbed on lots of tractors
bounced on the big orange bouncy pad
bumped along on a corn train ride
picked out pumpkins.

There were lots of smiles and minimal melt-downs,
so I would say the day was a huge success.

 & a funny story:
While we were in the barn with the sweet animals,
Hudson became very interested in the baby bunnies.
I had already explained to him that we weren't allowed
to hold the bunnies, but he could pet one if the worker
was holding it. He seemed to understand that, and
sweetly patted a bunny as the nice girl nestled it in her lap.

Before we left, he decided to make another lap around the bunny pen.
He was quietly looking at a sleeping bunny near the side of the enclosed area,
so I tried to snap a photo of the cute, big bunny perched on a hay bale.

The next thing I knew, I heard Pamela saying,
"Oh No! Hudson!!"
And out of the corner of my eye,
I see him hoisting up a startled bunny.
He had grabbed it by the fur,
and as it dangled I could see the fear it was feeling.
Nervously, Hudson quickly lowered it back into the straw,
unaware of why we all seemed so panicked.
Poor Bunny.

**after going through my photos,
I noticed that I snapped a picture
at the precise time that Hudson
was raising the bunny by the tail.

p.s. no animals were harmed in the making of this post. :)

That big picture of Hudson and you on the corn train...SO CUTE. :) And he even swam in corn! ;) What a fantastic pumpkin patch! And how fun you shared in the adventures with friends. Yay for fall festivities and traditions! Can't wait to get my little ones to a pumpkin patch soon. :)

And that story of curious little Hudson grabbing the bunny was too cute. Maybe the bunny just thought he was getting a deep-tissue massage. ;) And I can just imagine Hudson's "oh-no!" face!

Do you guys have plans to carve or paint the pumpkins?? :)

Oh what an awesome place to go. Sounds like they really have a lot of great activities for the children. Hudson looks so "cool" with his sunglasses on and the bunny by the tail picture is so cute!

Oh my goodness, the picture of Hudson picking up the bunny by it's tail... too funny. Guess you're going to have to get him a pet bunny, huh? ;)

Looks like the quintessential pumpkin patch experience! That story/picture of Hudson yanking the bunny by its fur is actually so funny. Something that ONLY a boy would do! Love all the pictures, especially that rad vintage fire truck. I tell you Ashley, this blog makes Alabama look truly amazing. I wish we could get a taste of that country living out here!

Oh my gosh! What a poor little bunny! He was probably freaking out! Maybe Hudson needs a bunny at home. ;)

This looks like a great pumpkin patch! So many fun things to do! So glad you guys had a great day there. And you are one brave momma going down the slide with Hudson! Those things burn. I tried going down a slide recently and I don't know how I did it as a kid. Maybe not weighing as much when you're little helps make it not burn as bad? lol

I literally laughed out loud seeing that last picture. There is a "bunny village" at our pumpkin patch that also includes no touching. I always wanted to touch them.

And his mini wayfarers? I die.

That is so funny that he grabbed that bunny. I would have done the same because they are so cute!! He is so cute with his darling face and hair. This looks like a fun time. My dad is taking the kids and I up the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) next week to visit some pumpkin patches there are all kinds up and down the coast here. They are so enchanting. This patch that you were at looked pretty great with the animals and all. Take care,

That place looks so gigantic!!! Our pumpkin patch is so much smaller. I love the tires and the tubes and the tiny bunnies! What a great place. I want to go there!!! We went pumpkin picking last week (though I am so behind on posts, it will probably not be posted for another two weeks eeeek). Sorry you had some meltdowns, but at least not too many! That bunny story was cute. You should get him one of his own. ;)

First of all, Hudson is quite the fashionista in his outfit. I love how cute he looks. He could start his own fashion blog soon! And the bunny incident is hilarious!! He was not content just petting a bunny. I'm so glad you got a picture, because that is priceless!
