Memorial Day
in the South
is the unofficial
kick-off to summer fun.
So today, we celebrated accordingly,
with laid-back family time,
grilled burgers, baked beans and watermelon,
and some friendly competition via a few of our favorite lawn games.
These are my favorite kinds of days.
But as we enjoyed ourselves,
the sacrifices that so many Americans have made
were not far from my mind.
Today I remembered the many heroes that have died for our freedom,
and give special thanks for the men and women who are out there
defending our great United States.
Hope you all had a wonderful lonnnnng weekend!
It's back to reality now....
if you are in need of an easy and delicious dinner
to whip up tomorrow night,
I'm sharing the recipe of
one of my favorite yummy Mexican meals
at my sweet friend Kyna's blog.
Go check it out!
Your tummy will thank you.

love this post. and you are beautiful!!! :)
Oh my gosh! Your husband's game face is CLASSIC!! You guys are a hoot! I've never played lawn darts? Anything with the word "darts" in it kind of scares me... Know what I mean? Haha! And I love your milk maid braid parade action! Sooo cute!

Seems like you had a wonderful Memorial Day full of love and smiles. Yay for Summer being there for you, here in Québec the official start to Summer is on Saint-Jean-Baptiste, our version of 4th of July, which is only on June 24th... Yikes!
Me want some warmth too :)

Sounds like a lot of fun! I agree, Memorial Day is the first un-official summer day. That's why we were so disappointed the temperature was back in the 60's. :-(
I love your hairdo! PRETTY :)
Your photography is lovely! Our memorial day was rainy and gross. Not very summery or BBQ-y. I'll live vicariously through your pictures!
