You know what is one of my most favorite sports to watch?
I know absolutely nothing about the why's or when's or what the heck icing means,
but I do know that I love the way hockey fans get super pumped about the game.
Oh, and let's not kid ourselves,
I love to watch a good fight.
Will and I thought it was time for Hudson to enjoy his first hockey game.
So after a day out (eating burgers and visiting sweet baby Parker),
we headed to the Huntsville Havoc game,
which was scheduled to begin
approximately an hour before Hudson's bedtime.
risky risky business.
We had been talking up the big game all day.
He fell asleep in the car on the way there,
but as we walked along with the crowd through the busy parking deck,
Hudson slowly opened his eyes, and before he was fully awake, mumbled:
"we at hockey game?"
Bless his heart.
He was excited.
When the lights dimmed low, and the team slid out onto the ice,
the music boomed loudly, and Hudson was a little unsure.
But that feeling quickly turned into awe as he watched the big, burly men "ice skate".
And, by the time the second period arrived,
our little guy was yelling along with the rest of the audience.
"Let's go HAVOC!"
My favorite part:
a young boy in front of us pumped his fist in the air as the Havoc made the winning goal...
and without missing a beat, Hudson promptly threw his tiny fists in the air and did the same.
So it looks like we have another hockey fan on our hands.
And who cares that we don't know the rules of the game?
We can still cheer along with the best of them.
