Get out of the way, Goalie!

You know what is one of my most favorite sports to watch?
I know absolutely nothing about the why's or when's or what the heck icing means,
but I do know that I love the way hockey fans get super pumped about the game.
Oh, and let's not kid ourselves,
I love to watch a good fight.

Will and I thought it was time for Hudson to enjoy his first hockey game.
So after a day out (eating burgers and visiting sweet baby Parker),
we headed to the Huntsville Havoc game,
which was scheduled to begin
approximately an hour before Hudson's bedtime.
risky risky business.

We had been talking up the big game all day.
He fell asleep in the car on the way there,
but as we walked along with the crowd through the busy parking deck,
Hudson slowly opened his eyes, and before he was fully awake, mumbled:
"we at hockey game?"
Bless his heart.
He was excited.

When the lights dimmed low, and the team slid out onto the ice,
the music boomed loudly, and Hudson was a little unsure.
But that feeling quickly turned into awe as he watched the big, burly men "ice skate".
And, by the time the second period arrived,
our little guy was yelling along with the rest of the audience.
"Let's go HAVOC!"

My favorite part:
a young boy in front of us pumped his fist in the air as the Havoc made the winning goal...
and without missing a beat, Hudson promptly threw his tiny fists in the air and did the same.

So it looks like we have another hockey fan on our hands.
And who cares that we don't know the rules of the game?
We can still cheer along with the best of them.

This was a fun way to brake in our first weekend in Huntsville. It was fun to catch up with Bass and Amy and Parker. Some good food at the grand ole Red Robin. Then off to see some HOCKEY. I find myself learning as we keep going and I can't wait to get us all back to watch another Havoc game. Hummmm maybe we could make it up to a Predators game. FUN FUN NIGHT!

My Daughter loves Hockey and I don't think she knows beans about it.

How fun for Hudson to have two parents who love the game and make it fun for him.

Red Robin AND a hockey game? Color me JEALOUS! That is seriously the ideal date in our world :)
We almost went to Red Robin on Saturday... we love their endless fries! And we definitely take advantage of them, ha!
I went to my first ever hockey game a couple months ago and fell in love with the game (and the fights, ha!) and now the closest hockey game is over 2 hours away. Darn it!

Fun times. That last picture of your son is precious. And your husband is great to photograph too, he comes across really genuine and kind in the pictures you get of him. Really sweet. I love the shirt you're wearing in the first photo of you. Take care and happy Monday-hopefully. :)

oh, i just love how Will's face lights up when he's enjoying himself! and good gosh, my smile would reach all the way back to my ears if i held a burger that grand, it looks absolutely mouth-watering!!! RR is a faved haunt for us too, it's awesome when someone orders a sizzler type meal cos the sound it makes just can't be beat ; )

what a fab bunch of fun you all had, i'm not much for watching sports on tv but going to live games is where it's at. how exciting this was Hudson's 1st time going and it's really rad that you capture moments like this so he can look back and know his life from your eyes at such a young age on. fist pumps to all this goodness indeed. xo ♥

I've only ever been to one hockey game and it was actually a good time. That may have had something to do with booze and fights, but still a good time :)
