Blues & BBQ on Beale.

You just can't visit Memphis
without taking a stroll down Beale Street.

As always,
it looked like neon
and sounded like the blues.

And the food?
Oh boy.
There's nothing quite like a
heaping plate of delicious Southern barbecue
with a cold glass of sweet tea.

And since I share a birthday weekend with the King,
we HAD to make a short stop at Graceland.
The mansion was officially closed to the public that night,
as it was hosting an "Elvis Insiders" formal dinner
for a selected group of fans.
But--
I snuck my way through
Elvis impersonators and fancy ladies
and got inside to buy Hudson a pink cadillac and his first Elvis t-shirt.
(ooooh, I'm such a rule-breaker.)

Memphis,
You were so much fun.
Looking forward to our next visit
......and lots more barbecue.
xo

That does looks like a lot of fun. Memphis is on my list of places to visit for sure!

I absolutely love that you snuck in to go to the gift shop. That's just too funny! What a great story for Hudson to share as he gets older! "My mom snuck into Graceland just to buy me this pink Cadillac!" haha

This was a great way to end our trip to Memphis. I am a little upset that Rendevous was closed again but my BBQ and PBR was good. I really think Hudson liked all of the people and lights on Beale St.

Love you & I had fun on your Birthday Trip!!!
