{LISTEN: The Chicken Dance}
Soooo, I may have seen too many movies.
I always expect Oktoberfest to be full of jolly, lederhosen-clad people dancing the chicken dance together while balancing old-fashioned beer steins, sauerkraut and schnitzel.
Instead, our area's Oktoberfest celebration in the tiny German-founded town of St. Florian revolves around tractors, crafts, and a few local crooners on a makeshift stage. Some cute scarecrows dotted the landscape, but there wasn't a schnitzel in sight.
Although movie magic wasn't in the making....our little October festival was still a fun escape.
p.s. "O'zapft is!" isn't a typo. It is the traditional cry for the opening of Oktoberfest....."It's Tapped!" in Austro-Bavarian.
Learned something new, didn't 'cha?

Hudson does not look too happy riding the train. That was a beautiful day for a festival.

so beautiful pics!!
I have been yelling "o'zapft is!" over and over again until my husband finally responded from the tv room to ask me WHAT the heck I was shouting..... haha
love that this post offered me an opportunity to annoy him tonight. I am kind of in a feisty mood tonight and annoying husband is bearing the brunt of it!

I don't get it how all your pictures are always sooo ... awesome !! Always such nice lighting and cutest object on film and all :P Love it ! You are all super cute !
Well despite the fact that it didn't live up to the movies, it still looks pretty fun. I've never been to an Oktoberfest, and since I'm part German that's pretty sad! I love the cuckoo pictures--adorable!
i think the next vacation hubby and i take will be in the neck of your woods ... but still my pictures won't come out even half as beautiful. no fair! :)
