Sometimes, the stars align just right, and I find that our
town has transformed into a magically idyllic Southern hideaway, resulting in a night rife with the perfect mixture of quaintness and charm.
{{Nights when Mickey Mouse Clouds float over the main street through downtown; the atmosphere is lively and filled with laughter and happiness. Nights when the trees are adorned with draping yarn in my college's team colors and purple painted lion paws decorate the pavement. Nights when characters of all kinds can be met on the sidewalk; superheroes and pirates, dogs and cows…even your closest of friends.}}
Friday was one of those nights.
We wandered into the Billy Reid flagship store to enjoy a very intimate evening of awesome music by a duo of very talented musicians, Matt Kinman and Jonathan Ferrell. They played banjos and fiddles and guitars. They sang and clapped and stomped and danced. The atmosphere was absolutely dreamy, as we sat in antique wooden chairs surrounded by quirky vintage finds and beautiful designer clothing. Our little man was feeling the music….he strutted right out into the middle of the crowd, and shuffled his little feet to the sounds of the fiddle, enticing smiles all around. He's certainly a star in my book….and possibly the coolest 2 year old I know.
Hooray for magical October nights.

That is so cute! I can just picture Hudson dancing in the middle of the dance floor. :) he suddenly looks all grown up! You always have such magical photos.
So cute! Always such great photography. I have another question to add to your post for questions: What kind of camera do you use?
Ashley what beautiful pictures. That picture of Hudson sitting in the wooden chair is so cute. That look on his face says, I want to dance. I also like the picture of Hudson looking at the adorable little girl. She looks like she could be Hudson's sister. You look so cute in your bangs. I love them!!! Looks like another fun outing.
you have some gorgeous pictures! definitely a great eye! I am jealous!
You take such beautiful photos and you're so beautiful yourself!
Also, your new blog look, looks great! :)
Magical nights are the stuff dreams are made of. And your photos remind me of glossy magazines every time I see them. Your little man is so precious with his curls, and you with your stunning features.

Awww how fun! Hudson is getting so big! It is crazy to think about! I mean I have been going to your blog now for over a year, I believe, and little boys really do grow so quickly. Mickey Clouds are cute too by the way. hehe.
Well I sure am glad I could talk you into getting out of the house. You were wright in one thing. The Carnival I was asking about did look like a lame duck. First Fridays though was a blast and there is always some good music. Billy Reid really does pick out some great music that Hudson can jam/dance to.
LOVE YOU!!!
That first picture of you?? Wowzas! Ashley, you are a BABE! And I'm loving the bangs!
Oh cute- he dances already? I could tell in a few pics that he was feelin' it! Great pics, as usual :)
Sounds like the perfect evening! I am sure Hudson was the star of the show - too cute! Love your new bangs!!
Ashley, you are beyond amazing at taking your family out for such fantastic evenings to make the sweetest memories :) That festival and night of music looked awesome!
The yarn wrapped around the tree totally reminded me of an ultra-natural may pole :) And I have to ask, is that really a cloud shaped by mickey mouse??? how cool is that? :)
And you are looking lovely as ever. I spy new bangs!! love 'em :) And that last picture of Hudson...what a sweet boy you have <3
You have the most amazing photos. so colorful and fun!
Magical. What an amazing town.
I also must say your bangs look great! I need to get mine trimmed badly.
I just read your comment to me on Courtney's blog. I can identify with the whole "reading all day thing", especially when I was a child. (I would get a bit obsessive and read an entire book in a day sometimes. Intense haha.) Books have always been there for me, and I am glad they have been there for you. Totally want to reread A Wrinkle in Time too. :)
Kudos for the John Mayer lyric quote!! This looks like such a fun night, you all look like you had a blast. I bet Hudson was adorable, dancing away!!!
