A Day Out with Thomas

While we were in Nashville, Hudson got to enjoy a very special surprise....a day out with Thomas. The beloved steam engine had rolled into the Tennessee Central Railway Museum for a fun afternoon with lots of ecstatic boys and girls. Hudson's favorite things are his trains, so he couldn't have been more excited.

--We rode this tiny train before we saw Thomas. Hudson was a little bit confused, and slightly disappointed; I think he thought this was the train we had been talking about for days.--

--Hudson played with train tables, and got a little Thomas "tattoo" that stayed on his arm for about ten minutes. He was really happy while it lasted...saying "ooh! Thomas!" as he pointed at it. We posed for a photo with Sir Topham Hatt, who was just a little bit creepy. As you can see, Hudson didn't want to get too close.--

--We answered the call of "All Aboard!" and found our seats on Car #1. We settled into our window seat, and waited for Thomas to chug away.--

--We enjoyed out 20 minute train ride past big bridges, and school buses, and a few smiling pedestrians. Hudson loved looking out the window, and waving to the trees and the vehicles and the fading city skyline.--

Hudson's first train ride was quite special. He adores Thomas & Friends, so naturally he was thrilled to spend the day with one of his favorite characters. It was pretty fun for Will and I, too. There's not much that's better than making your little one smile.

Here's a little film I made of our day.

Ashley that was such a special trip for little Hudson. He looks adorable in all the pictures, cannot pick just one. His little outfit looks so cute and perfect for the day. He gets more precious every day. You and Will always find the best little day trips. You are documenting Hudson's life so well, he will have a ball looking back at everything. I love the engineers hat!!!!!

Well this was one special day for Hudson. I was not sure where he wanted to go. Train Tables, Ride the small Train. Where was so much for a little guy to take it in. He loved it and it was fun to watch him take it all in. We will try the one in Sweet Home Alabama next time.

LOVE YOU!!!

I think I would have been excited about this, too, even though I am almost 23 years old. Thomas is still cool.

P.S. You have gorgeous eyes and eyebrows. I know the eyebrow compliment is weird, but it's totally true.

Love this!! I hope my mum took me on as many exciting excursions as you take Hudson on!!! We have a 'Thomas' themed railway museum near me. I haven't been but I'm sure Hudson would love it. Steam trains are pretty darn cool no matter how old you are!

What a lucky boy Hudson is!! cracks me up thinking of him seeing that darling, but rather little, train at first and being a bit bummed if that was the big Thomas ;) But I'm sure he loved that fun ride! And then to ride on the real Thomas the Engine Train!!! What a sweet memory :) and that video was darling! Loved the part where he's standing next to you and he leans in to put his cheek close to yours :)

I LOVE Nashville and it's just too bad we live in po-dunk and nothing ever exciting ever comes here. Gunner totally saw these pictures and freaked out. omgomg Thomas! Mom, let's go see Thomas! ha.

Thomas the Train needs to made a stop to my house.
