While we were in Nashville, Hudson got to enjoy a very special surprise....a day out with Thomas. The beloved steam engine had rolled into the Tennessee Central Railway Museum for a fun afternoon with lots of ecstatic boys and girls. Hudson's favorite things are his trains, so he couldn't have been more excited.
--We rode this tiny train before we saw Thomas. Hudson was a little bit confused, and slightly disappointed; I think he thought this was the train we had been talking about for days.--
--Hudson played with train tables, and got a little Thomas "tattoo" that stayed on his arm for about ten minutes. He was really happy while it lasted...saying "ooh! Thomas!" as he pointed at it. We posed for a photo with Sir Topham Hatt, who was just a little bit creepy. As you can see, Hudson didn't want to get too close.--
--We answered the call of "All Aboard!" and found our seats on Car #1. We settled into our window seat, and waited for Thomas to chug away.--
--We enjoyed out 20 minute train ride past big bridges, and school buses, and a few smiling pedestrians. Hudson loved looking out the window, and waving to the trees and the vehicles and the fading city skyline.--
Hudson's first train ride was quite special. He adores Thomas & Friends, so naturally he was thrilled to spend the day with one of his favorite characters. It was pretty fun for Will and I, too. There's not much that's better than making your little one smile.
Here's a little film I made of our day.
