Yesterday, Hudson turned two...and we celebrated with yummy cake and lots of Choo-Choo's!
As he stumbled out of his room, he realized there had been a very special delivery overnight: his very own train table, all set up and ready for one special little boy to enjoy. He was so excited to see it, and immediately began to play...chugga chugga choo choo!
Then, his day just kept getting better, because I think he was even more thrilled when he saw his birthday cake. It was a confectionary creation, with a birthday Thomas Train circling the chocolatey track. As soon as Hudson laid his eyes on it, he squealed in delight. He stood right by the table, pointing at the "track!" "cake!", wanting so bad to get his little hands on it.
When his grandparents arrived, they brought lots and lots of gifts. Hudson had a great time tearing into the paper, as he exclaimed "oh boy! oh boy! oh boy!". He got so many trains and tracks and surprises, he could hardly contain his excitement. When we finally sat him down for the traditional singing of the "Happy Birthday" song, he could hardly wait to blow out the candles on his cake. He was huffing and puffing as we sang. Then, after he finally blew them out, he said "Again? Again?"....so we relit them, and he blew them out once more.
After everyone left, he stayed up just a little bit late, playing with all of his new things. He couldn't have been happier. It was a perfect birthday for a perfect little boy.
