Pirates & Princesses

Hudson has been really into pirates this summer, so when we had the opportunity to take him to a themed beach breakfast with pirates and princesses, we jumped at the chance.

We were seated with beautiful oceanfront views, and enjoyed a huge family-style Southern breakfast of beignets, buttered biscuits, scrambled eggs, grits, and crispy bacon, while we waited for the swashbuckling pirates to make their entrance.

Suddenly, the sounds of Pirates of the Caribbean blasted over the speakers, and in walked a Jack Sparrow look-a-like and his buccaneer buddy. As they walked past little Hudson, he got a spooked look in his eyes, and quickly buried his face into the table. The pirates tried to speak to him, but he just wouldn't lift his head up. He stayed in that position until they were well on their way.

But he quickly perked up when the princess came out. He happily posed for a picture with the bejeweled beauty.

Arrrr Matey...Our little guy is never afraid of a pretty girl.

Great Post Swoop, I am so glad you found this little breakfast. Hudson really did enjoy it. I think he will like it allot more when he is a tad bit older and he can go on the treasure hunt. I liked the fact that ALABAMA got to eat free. I like that one picture where Hudson looks like he is going to buy out Souvenir City. HAHA

LOVE YOU ME MATEY!!!

I love the Specials' "Enjoy Yourself" lyrics on that birdy art!!! That's neat.

I love all of these shots. I really am hungry after seeing the food too (I'm about to cook dinner). I think the buckets hanging down is amazing.

oh Ashley, you and your fams are always out on the most fun adventures and the brightest too i might add! the colors are terrific here.

Hudson's experience reminded me of a trip my folks took me on to Universal Studios when i was about his age. Frankenstein was walking towards me and i ran away screaming and crying. poor dressed up dude, my Dad bundled me up for soothing times. i was totally freaked at those neck bolts - baha!

loved your comment overload, it could never be too much for me. always adore hearing from you lades. you are the BEST! yes, it was a taco salad and it was completely devoured, no spare bits for the seagulls circling ; )

i hear you about animal movies and how they touch us in very deep ways. i can't bring myself to watch some of the really tortured but triumphant ones. sometimes i just want to veg with Lady and the Tramp and that be that!

loved the friendship quote you left, will be saving it forever, thank you! xo ♥

Hudson's little romper is awesome! I too love pirate stuff! I can totally imagine the pirate being super scary though... I wasn't such a pirate fan when I was little either!

Oh my gosh, how cute are you with your perfectly matched summer piratey outfit - love the colors and the stripes. You look so perfect for the surroundings!

How adorable that he posed with the princess and hid his face from the pirates. I can just imagine it even without seeing the picture and my heart melts.
