Under the Table & Dreaming.

{LISTEN: So Right by Dave Matthews Band}

Gravitron. Himalaya. Zipper. Ring of Fire. Tilt-a-Whirl.
The mere mention of these words causes nervousness to well up inside of me.
I don't ride rides...no way.

But the lights? The lights I love. And the caramel apples.

So when the fair came to town, we took advantage of the free admission and strolled around, late into the warm summer evening. Hudson was mildly stunned by all of the flashing lights and bright colors, riding in his stroller with a permanent look of amazement.

Hudson's first fair adventure was a great one, even though he only rode one ride...the choo-choo train, of course. He loved picking a bright yellow duck out of the water bucket, and he was thrilled to choose an inflatable Diego as his prize.

The magic of the fair turned a simple starry, summer night into a fantastic adventure. The combination of lights, sounds, colors, and cotton candy made for a wonderful little outing.

Do you like thrill rides??

I love rides at Disneyland and other big theme parks... but fair rides?! No way! Those make me sick haha!

I actually do like thrill rides. But not most fair rides. I love a good roller coaster though!

I love going to the fair when it's in town, too! I also really enjoy looking at all the lights and the exhibits that our fair has. It's full of so much of our county's culture!

How fun!! I hope I'll have a chance to go to SOME fair or Holiday Event. I'll be missing all of my home states holidays this summer. Hopefuly Alaska has some fun ones going on. :) I like thrill rides once they start. It's the anticipation that kills me. haha!

Those apples look yummy, love them! Hudson looks so sweet as usual. Fair rides scare me but just the atmosphere is fun. I love the hot pink shorts!!!!

fun! I didn't realize they had fair food too! I soooo would have made Jordan take me, but we decided it is way to hot to go anywhere... Well maybe I decided that :)

You know I love me some thrill rides but I really am not a big fan of the fair rides. Hudson had so much fun just looking around at all the crazy lights and a few crazy people. I can't wait until he is old enough to go to a theme park. I will have someone to ride with. haha. Oh and who does not love fair food. So healthy and good.

LOVE YOU!!!

I love thrill rides but I had a bad experience on a fair ride a few years ago and so I tend to stay away from them.

You're right, the lights looked so pretty, especially in the twilight. You guys looked like you had a ball!

I love rides, but prefer permanent theme parks where the rides aren't being assembled and disassembled weekly. I also love the lights, smells, and excitement of the fair! Looks like y'all had a great time!!

I love the fair (Our county fair is actually one of the biggest fairs in the country!) I like the rides but Jus gets motion sickness so we can only go on a few. BUT caramel apples are a MUST!

awww the fair! love the fair. I love it ten times more now that I have little boys who I can take. GREAT pictures.

Love the worlds tallest man's comment. Was there some little sexual innuendo in the first sentence? hmmm??? ;)

Haha, I think the choo choo train is every kids' favorite ride. Mine would probably go on that over and over and over too. I love fairs as well. They are fun. As I always have to have kettlecorn or something like zeppoles. What lovely shots from your time at the fair!

i loooooove fairs and festivals and all that sort of stuff hehe.. the rides not so much. my boyfriend and a few friends dragged me on a spinny up-and-down crazy carnival ride last summer and i thought we were going to die. i was screaming and then laughing because i was nervous. i felt very ill afterwards.. but we made it! hopefully they don't make me do it again.. ever. anywayyyy.. i love your photosssss! they are always soo pretty and have this happy feeling about them :)

you guys have such a sweet family life together! you inspire me to go out and do fun things around the town.

i used to love thrill rides but now as i've gotten older i totally get motion sickness. it's ridiculous. now i'd rather just eat food. or shop. that's fun too.

The fairs over here aren't as much fun as they seem to be over there. I don't even remember the last time i went, was when i was younger, i think! So many pretty colours and lights and the top right photo looks gorgeous.

as much as those rides scare me to death (i get dizzy even twirling in one full circle - boo me!) seeing that magical ferris wheel has me aching to get to a fair and take it all in while my two feet stay planted. baha! love these photos Ashley; Hudson is getting to be such the little man now. you must notice so many changes in him every day.

happy new week to you love! ♥

I HATE rides and roller coasters - I have endured all of two for the sake of young love when my hubby and I were first "dating" at 14 and 17! Lol! Never again! And geez, I wanna go to a nice fair - the ones around here are nasty and crappy!

Oh i looooooooooooooove thrill rides!! (as long as most of the motion is going forward and not spinning me around...does that make sense?) Roller Coasters and "the zipper" will always be my favorite :)

I want to go to the fair now and eat caramel apples! I'll have to do research when our State Fair is :) Looks like you guys had a blast!!

Those are such great pictures! My husband and I make it a mandatory stop of we happen to pass any fair on the side of the road. There was this super cute on in a tiny town in Georgia that we pulled over right away for...the only qualm I had with it was that the rides were so rickety I thought I was going to die;)
