Spring Awakening

{LISTEN: Hey Na Na by Katie Herzig}

We've wrestled ourselves out of a cold winter, and signs of happiness and warmth are all around. The shops are awash with electric colors and spectacular stripes. The downtown streets are alive with laughter and activity. The first beautiful blooms have arrived on the frothy Pear trees. We've shed our coats.

It's happening, everybody. Spring is awakening.

Will and I enjoyed a spectacular night, beginning with dinner at a new favorite, 1892 East in Huntsville's historic Five Points Neighborhood. The perfectly cozy restaurant serves the most wonderful menu of distinctive New American cuisine, created with fresh, locally grown, organic ingredients. I started with the delectable Grilled Tile Fish, with cheesy polenta and olive tampenade. And I finished with a warm, apple bread pudding a la mode, topped with fresh berries. Delicious does not even begin to describe this meal.

After dinner, we enjoyed a stroll through downtown, and despite the few drops of rain that splashed down upon us, we were all smiles on our casual walk down the cobblestones, under the spectacular starry sky. I was comfortable in my lace LBD without a jacket, and the light breeze gave my handmade feather earrings just the perfect excuse to fly softly.

We made our way to the Performance Hall, to see a popular, and aptly titled, Broadway production....Spring Awakening. And while it was pretty enjoyable, it definitely wasn't my favorite. Sorry, but I prefer my musicals without a side of nude male booty. Eeew.

The most perfect end to the most fabulous night? Seeing our sweet Hudson when we arrived home.

So, welcome Spring. I look forward to the next few weeks, when we will see the sun burn stronger, and enjoy the days that grow longer.

What a night! I had a great time out on the town. I agree with you that this was not one of my all time favorite plays but man that food was good. We will be back 1892! LOVE YOU and I had a blast!

I've wanted to see Spring Awakening for awhile. Perhaps it was just the "wrong" male nude body, that ruined it for you haha?

LOVE this post...for a few reasons. The dinner sounded to die for. I am all about fresh organic food. Unfortunately, where I live we don't have a restaurant that only serves food like that (and I don't even live in a place that small). Guess I will just have to rely on my home-grown garden from the backyard :) Also, love your going out outfit. You looked beautiful and the dress and earrings were WAY TOO CUTE!

And of course, my most favorite part is when you said the BEST part of the evening was coming home to a little toddler running around the house. I can most certainly relate to that! Have a great weekend!

You all go to the best places!!! I rarely go out to eat with my boys especially because they get antsy. . .but it is harder when they get older to do that so that would be why. Love your dress!!!!
