and the Alabama snow is deep.

{LISTEN: The Hat by Ingrid Michaelson}

When I woke this morning, I could tell by the white glow seeping through my bedroom window that today was going to be a good day. Our lawn was covered by the most beautiful blanket of fluffy, white snow. 10 inches of the stuff, as a matter of fact, quite a lot for our Alabama town. We could hardly wait to wake Hudson up to see the beautiful winter wonderland that was waiting just outside his back door. After piling on layers and layers of clothes, we finally stepped out into the layers and layers of soft powder snow. We took a short walk down the street, greeting neighbors and tossing a few snowballs. Kids were out sledding, and happy parents snapped photos of the fun in our first big snowfall in such a long time. There's no trace of activity on the roads, as the whole city has all but shut down for the glorious snow day.

Hudson seemed to like the snow! After our walk, we let the little guy play. We stood him up in the most shallow snow drift we could find, and he shuffled his mittened hands around in the snow. All those layers seemed to hinder his movement, though, and he took a little fall...face first into the cold stuff. After that he was just about ready to go inside for a break, but I know we'll be out again later today. I can't wait to build a snowman, and perhaps pelt Will in the head with a couple of snowballs.

Hope you all have a FUN day today!

I so wish I had your positivity about snow! I am in Utah and its a daily occurance in the winter months. I am originally a california girl, so this weather frightens me and my bones! I do like spending family times throwing snow balls and making snow men! I love how you can play with Hudson and he can enjoy it, so much to look forward to with my little gal!

how cute! We didn't get nearly that much where I am, though my parts are about an hour and a half south of me and they got around 10 inches too. We got 4 inches max. Everything here is shut down too, so I have the day off! Bliss!

Have a wonderful snow day with you precious family!

Aw! Little Hudson in the snow is adorable! They're predicting we'll get your storm here in Southern Maryland starting tomorrow sometime. Though the forecasters are arguing over how much we'll get...

And every time a kid is wearing tons of layers, I always think of A Christmas Story when they little brother can't put his arms down haha. Hudson looks super cute!

It's so funny that you have so much snow in Alabama, and we have basically none in New England. We're supposed to get a lot tomorrow night, but we'll see if the weather man is telling the truth ;)

awww Hudson's hat is the cutest!! it looks like he enjoyed the snow!!
it's so funny how the south has gotten SO much more snow than we have in Boston! i'd say our winter total thus far is maybe 4 inches?!
but we have a huge storm headed our way this week, so it looks like we'll be catching up!
