We had a date the other night. You know, a real live kind of date, with only two little lovebirds.....a husband & wife who drop off their sweet baby with his grandparents so that they can be whisked away to a romantic dinner at a dimly lit Italian restaurant, where they share conversations and laughs over a savory meal while the candle on the table flickers, giving off a madly romantic vibe. Then they hit the town for a magical evening at the Theatre, the Broadway type, not the cinema. They snuggle close together in their amazing seats at the show, casually holding hands as the lights dim and the orchestra plays the opening notes of a wonderful musical.
Yep, we had a date the other night....and it was a good one. You may have already guessed what play we saw (hint, hint. from the title of my post?) It was 9 to 5! Remember that movie from the eighties? Dolly Parton in a leading role? She also sang the title song? Yeah! You remember! Now sing along: "Workin' 9 to 5. What a way to make a livin! Barely gettin' by, it's all takin' and no givin'!" Let me tell you, that's one catchy song. I should know, it's been stuck on repeat in my head for, oh, about two weeks now. But it was worth it, because it was a fabulous show. It really had me laughing, over and over again.
My sweet husband got us season tickets to the Broadway shows this year. I foresee quite a few really great date nights in our future. Yippee!
