The Old Mill

On our third day in the Mountains, we enjoyed lunch at a Smokies staple, The Old Mill. We were hoping to make it to the restaurant in time for breakfast, but we were definitely in vacation mode that morning, and didn't drag into the eatery until a bit after 11:00, the breakfast-time cut off. The Old Mill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is one of the most popular spots in the area. The actual Mill provided power for the town from the early 1800's until 1935, and today it is one of the most photographed mills in the country! We loved the down-home southern fare and especially loved strolling around the beautiful grounds after our meal, where we were able to let Hudson run and explore. We even got to feed some of the friendly ducks and geese that call Little Pigeon River their home.

Sweet family. That was so much fun feeding the ducks and eating at the Mill. Hudson is too cute in his hat.
