Florence's neighboring community of St. Florian was founded by Roman Catholic German immigrants, and every October the town gathers to celebrate a traditional German weekend of fun, Oktoberfest! This was the first year we have made the 5 minute drive to the quaint town to enjoy their fall festival. There were vendors selling delicious German fare...bratwurst, schnitzels,Gute and fritters, there was a makeshift Biergarten...an open air area where traditonal German beverages were served, and the town was even decorated with German flags hanging from street lights. It was a beautiful, breezy fall day and we loved feeling very European....at home in Alabama.

I love St. Florian. I have always loved that church but have never been inside. Beautiful!
Looks like our little guy had fun. Those pics are so sweet of you all. I want to squeeze Hudson.
