Back to the Future

In Florence, Alabama, the city where we live, there is a delightful little tradition that begins in March of each year.....First Friday in Historical Downtown Florence. First Friday offers an enjoyable evening for locals to experience the musical and artistic talent that is native to the Shoals area.  Musicians perform on the cobblestone of Mobile Street, and artists set up tables along Court Street to showcase and sell their creations. Will , Hudson, and I were so happy to have something fun to do on a Friday night as a family! We had a pleasant evening strolling leisurely through our town, and visiting some of our fabulous local shops. My favorite part of the night, of course, was shopping at the Billy Reid flagship store, located on Court Street. GQ Magazine recently named Billy Reid the 2010 Best New Menswear Designer in America. His fashions are featured on many celebrities, from Gossip Girl's Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), to Jake Gyllenhaal. He also has some very fantastic fashions for women....I just couldn't resist picking up a phenomenal plaid shirt while I was there! Another exciting part of this particular First Friday, was spotting the DeLorean.  Yes, you read that correctly. The DeLorean, which served as a time machine in the movie Back to the Future, was visiting Florence for the George Lindsey Film Festival. Too bad Marty McFly wasn't at the wheel.
